Gurgaon ranks No.1 in NCR

The World Bank and International Finance Corporation (IFC), in its report released on 30th June, 2009 titled as “Doing Business in India – 2009” have ranked Gurgaon as number on city in NCR. In the overall rating, Gurgaon ranks 4th, New Delhi 6th and NOIDA at 12th position. Gurgaon has achieved number one status in NCR beating NOIDA and Delhi in the World Bank “Doing Business in India – 2009” report.

It is the first of its kind study conducted by World Bank across 17 cites and 181 economies of India. Till now, the World Bank has been conducting studies on “Doing Business in South Asia” where India was represented only by Mumbai. This report has been completed based on following 7 parameters across 17 cites of India.

  1. Starting a business
  2. Dealing with construction permits
  3. Registering property
  4. Paying taxes
  5. Trading across boarders
  6. Enforcing contracts
  7. Closing a business

 

Out of 7 parameters mentioned above, Gurgaon has come number one in NCR in 3 parameters i.e. ease on dealing with construction permits, ease on registering property and ease on closing of business. Gurgaon is also ranked first in India on the parameter of ease on registering property.
